UFC 123 Live Blog: Matt Brown vs. Brian Foster Updates

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- This is the UFC 123 live blog for Matt Brown vs. Brian Foster, a welterweight bout on tonight's Spike TV portion of the card at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

TUF 7's Matt Brown (11-9) has dropped both his fights this year. Meanwhile, Brian Foster (14-5) is coming off a Knockout of the Night win over Forrest Petz at UFC Fight Night 22 in September.

Round 1: The two touch gloves and we're underway. Brown headhunts with a high kick but Foster lets it slide by his head. Foster takes Brown down but they're back to their feet quickly. Brown throws a knee and Foster catches it for a takedown. Brown tries a guillotine, but Foster defends and moves to side control. Brown scrambles free and ends up on Foster's back. Another scramble and Foster tries an arm bar. The two work upright and Foster tags Brown with a right, then a left and another right, then slams Brown down. Great sequence for him. Brown sweeps and ends up taking Foster's back, then transitions to an arm bar/triangle. Foster keeps his composure and breaks free. Foster ends up on top and drops heavy strikes before moving back into Brown's guard. The two exchange words at the closing horn. Foster 10-9.

Round 2: Two straight low blows occur within the first 30 seconds of the round, causing two short timeouts. Foster dumps Brown to the ground. Foster kicks at his legs, then dives in with a right hand. Foster finds success with that overhand right standing over Brown. Brown tries to get up and makes a mistake, leaving his neck out. Foster locks on a guillotine and Brown taps.
