Josh Koscheck: GSP Title Fight Will Be on Dec. 11

There will only be a one-week wait for Georges St-Pierre's title defense against Josh Koscheck following the conclusion of The Ultimate Fighter 12's live finale, according to the challenger.

"Can't wait until TUF 12 airs in September!" Koscheck tweeted Tuesday. "And oh yeah, did you guys know, that I am going to be the next welterweight champion come Dec. 11th."

TUF: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck premieres Sept. 15, backed by UFC FIght Night 22 with Demian Maia vs. Alan Belcher, and will close when a six-figure UFC contract is awarded to the tournament final winner on Dec. 4.

The event is on track to be UFC No. 123 and there's no word yet on the location for the championship tilt.

The week-long turnaround from the finale to the coaches' showdown is the shortest (not counting Rich Franklin's two-episode stint last season as coach) since the fifth season, when BJ Penn and Jens Pulver squared off the same night as the finale.

Koscheck earned his shot at the title and a coaching spot on the show by defeating Paul Daley on May 8 at UFC 113 in Montreal.

St-Pierre will be coming off seven straight wins including four successful belt defenses. St-Pierre last beat Dan Hardy by unanimous decision at UFC 111 in March.
