
Bonnar (14-7) was handed a loss due to a cut from an accidental headbutt versus Soszynski (20-10-1) in February. Unable to get the result overturned, Bonnar will look to snap a three-fight losing streak in this rematch.

Round 1: After a few nice exchanges, Bonnar catches a Soszynski kick and takes him down. Soszynski tries an arm bar and uses it to escape. A wild exchange follows against the cage with Soszynski getting the better of it. Bonnar is bleeding as usual. Bonnar lands a nice knee to the face as they continue to trade. Soszynski runs Bonnar down and lands a few hard shots, but Bonnar puts him against the fence and lands a few rights of his own. Soszynski scores with another right off a break. Bonnar looks hurt as they go toe-to-toe and the crowd goes wild. A clinch at the 10-second mark and they ride out the round as the crowd stands in approval. MMA Fighting scores it for Soszynski 10-9.
Round 2: Soszynski swarms Bonnar early and wobbles him with a left. Bonnar retreats and Soszynski comes forward. Of course, moments later Bonnar is the one landing leather. Then Soszynski hurts him again with a punch. Wild shifts galore. The MGM Grand audience is eating this up. Two guys just standing there pouring their hearts out in the cage. Bonnar eventually takes Soszynski down, about two minutes into the round. Soszynski doesn't stay down long though, they've got more slugging to do. Bonnar drops Soszynski with a knee. It looks on the verge of finishing. Soszynski takes about 1000 punches as he tries work free but Bonnar just relentlessly hammers for an eternity until Mario Yamasaki mercifully calls an end to the fight.
