Rich Franklin, Mirko Cro Cop, Carlos Condit and Rory MacDonald each walked off Saturday night at UFC 115 in Vancouver with post-fight performance bonuses of $85,000.
Franklin scored the Knockout of the Night by knocking out Chuck Liddell with five seconds left in the first round. It was Franklin's first KO where he left his opponent out cold since the devastating finish against Nate Quarry at UFC 56 in November 2005.
The Submission of the Night, as mentioned on the pay-per-view broadcast, went to Cro Cop. Coming into the fight UFC president Dana White all but guaranteed that the heavyweight fight between former straight kickboxers would be Knockout of the Night, but Cro Cop survived to knockdowns to surprisingly tap out Barry with a rear-naked choke at 4:30 of the final round. The last time Cro Cop submitted an opponent was against Kevin Randleman with a guillotine choke at Pride on New Year's Eve 2004.
"People confuse me as a kickboxer but I've been training jiu-jitsu for 10 years," Cro Cop said.
The come-from-behind victory from Condit against MacDonald earned the two the Fight of the Night. After losing perhaps the first two rounds, Condit punished MacDonald with ground and pound punches and elbows to force a stoppage with seven seconds left in the fight.
"I don't have any problems with the stoppage," said White, who was understanding of the referee.
