UFC 115 Live Blog: Paulo Thiago vs. Martin Kampmann Updates

This is the UFC 115 live blog for Paulo Thiago vs. Martin Kampmann, a welterweight bout on tonight's pay-per-view from the General Motors Place in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Thiago (13-1) and Kampmann (16-3) will look to climb close to title contention with this fight. Kampmann last fought in January defeating Jacob Volkmann with a guillotine choke. Thiago won his last two fights, beating Volkmann and Mike Swick.

The live blog is below.

Round 1: Kampmann's quickness advantage is playing well early, as he's touching Thiago with crisp combos. Thiago still measuring him even though he's shown to have the reach advantage. Kampmann with a couple of jabs. Thiago tries to take a leg for a takedown, Kampmann pulls free and fires off a jab. Kampmann knocked Thiago backwards with a right. Thiago went for a leg and got a takedown with 1:15 left. Kampmann used a guillotine to work free. Thiago used a judo throw to put Kampmann down. Kampmann tried a power guillotine from the top. Thiago was in a bit of trouble but worked free as the round ran out. Strong round for Kampmann, 10-9.

Round 2: Thiago lands his best punch of the fight in an exchange with a left. Kampmann takes it with no problem though. They clinch against the fence and Kampmann looks for the takedown. Thiago works free and lands a right. Kampmann takes Thiago down with 2:45 left. Kampmann looked for a side choke. Thiago hunted for a kimura. Thiago used it to sweep. Only 30 seconds left though. Kampmann spent no time on the ground, he got up and landed a couple knees as he also took round two, 10-9.

Round 3: Thiago has a big mouse under his right eye to start round three. Kampmann takes Thiago down off the clinch. Kampmann went for the arm triangle, then took Thiago's back. This has been a dominant fight for Kampmann, who came in as the underdog. Thiago is exhausted as the round runs under a minute. Kampmann takes him down again. He takes his back and throws strikes from the top. Kampmann was going for the arm triangle as the round ended. Dominant round and performance for Kampmann, 10-9.

Winner: Kampmann via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
