Freddy Kemayo Rebounds From Loss to Capture K-1 East Europe GP

Frenchman Freddy Kemayo qualified for the K-1 World Grand Prix Final 16 tonight in Bucharest, Romania with a third round KO over local Sebastian Cioban in the one night tournament final. Cioban verbally surrendered after he was unable to deal with the hands of Kemayo, falling victim to a barrage of hooks and uppercuts.

Alexey Ignashov defeated Kemayo in the semi-finals by decision but sustained a knee injury in the process and was unable continue. Given the controversial nature of Kemayo's qualification for the Final 16, it is conceivable that Ignashov may be granted at a wild card slot or another chance to qualify.

Full results available after the break.
