There will be one more grappling superfight at this year's UFC Fan Expo on May 28 and 29 in Las Vegas and it will feature former PRIDE lightweight champion Takanori Gomi against an opponent to be determined, MMAFighting.com has learned from Grapplers Quest.In addition to the superfight, Gomi is expected to enter the tournament in the Men's Advance welterweight division (169.9 pounds and under).
The UFC partners with Grapplers Quest every year to host a grappling tournament at the UFC Fan Expo.
Gomi is expected to next face Joe Stevenson at UFC on Versus 2 on Aug. 1 in Salt Lake City. Gomi will be looking to bounce back from his UFC debut loss to Kenny Florian by rear-naked choke at UFC Fight Night 21 in March.
Gomi has a background in freestyle and catch wrestling and is a four-time All Japan Combat Wrestling champion.
