After a rocky start to the first round, Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante turned the tide in a hurry, scoring a first-round TKO over Antwain Britt in the television opener of Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery.The end came quickly for Britt, who had been controlling most of the standup up until the end. Cavalcante rocked Britt with an overhand right. Britt staggered backwards and Cavalcante followed him into the corner before unleashing a left hook and uppercut that forced the referee to call a halt to the action at 3:45 of the round.
Just moments earlier, Britt had buckled Feijao with a right as they pulled off the cage. According to Compustrike, Britt outlanded Feijao 29-18 during the short bout, but it all unraveled in short order.
Feijao improved to 9-2 with his second straight victory while Britt fell to 11-4 with the loss.
The fighters were considered two of the top prospects among Strikeforce's light-heavyweights.
