UFC 113 Live Blog: Kimbo Slice vs. Matt Mitrione Updates

This is the UFC 113 live blog for Kimbo Slice vs. Matt Mitrione, a heavyweight bout on tonight's pay-per-view in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The two The Ultimate Fighter 10 heavyweights nearly went at it backstage at Friday's weigh-ins and now they'll bring their intensity inside the cage.

The live blog is below.



Mitrione walks out Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man," and the crowd gives him a mixed reaction. Slice walks out to a huge ovation, wearing a Montreal Canadiens ski hat.

Round 1: Mitrione opens with a high kick and Slice ducks it. Mitrione follows with another one. Kimbo catches him this time and slams him down. Explosive opening. Mitrione sets up a triangle. Kimbo slams him again but Mitrione holds on to it. Kimbo escapes and moves to side control. Wild opening. Mitrione staves off Kimbo's offense and gets back to his feet. Kimbo works the takedown again and Mitrione goes down again. Kimbo is suddenly channeling Georges St. Pierre. Mitrione again works a triangle but he never locks it in and Slice escapes, then lets Mitrione up. Over a minute left. Mitrione hurts Kimbo with a kneeto the head, then another. Mitrione hurts Kimbo with a strike. Kimbo goes down and Mitrione looks for a gator roll submission. Kimbo holds on. Wild round. MMA Fighting scores it for Mitrione, 10-9.

Round 2: Mitrione comes out with early leg kicks. Kimbo is hurt bad by them. You could see him grimace. He's a one-legged fighter now and it's probably a matter of time. Mitrione lands a straight left. Kimbo clinches and tries for a takedown, but Kimbo doesn't have the leg strength to finish it. Mitrione ends up on top. He throws a series of devastating knees to the body. Kimbo is taking a big beating. Mitrione goes to full mount and start throwing bombs from the top. Referee Dan Miragliotta looks closely but he sees enough to let the fight continue. Mitrione moves to an Americana. Kimbo won't tap. No one can question his toughness. Mitrione goes back to ground and pound, and lands a hail of strikes until Miragliotta decides he's seen enough.

Winner: Matt Mitrione via TKO, Rd. 2
