WEC 48 Medical Suspensions


Leonard Garcia and Chan Sung Jung both paid the price for their fight of the year candidate this past Saturday, each receiving a six-month suspension following WEC 48 in Sacramento, Calif.

In order to reduce the suspension, Garcia will need to be examined and cleared for a possible right hand fracture and Chan for a right distal ulnar shaft fracture (forearm).

Below is the full list of the WEC 48 precautionary suspensions.




- Urijah Faber suspended for 180 days or cleared by physician for left thigh and knee injury
- Mike Brown suspended 45 days and needs new physical
- Scott Jorgensen suspended for 180 days or cleared by physician for possible left metacarpal fracture
- Antonio Banuelos suspended for 180 days or cleared by physician for possible nasal fracture
- Chan Sung Jung suspended for 180 days or cleared by physician for right distal ulna shaft fracture, facial laceration
- Leonard Garcia suspended for 180 days or cleared by physician for possible right hand fracture
- Anthony Pettis suspended 180 days or cleared by physician for right foot fracture
- Demetrious Johnson suspended 180 days or cleared by physician for right thumb dislocation/fracture
- Brad Pickett suspended for 180 days or cleared by physician for left clavicle fracture
- Rani Yahya suspended for 60 days or cleared by physician for left eye laceration
- Brandon Visher suspended 45 days and needs new physical
