Camoes got Pellegrino's back standing up early in the first round and almost had a rear-naked choke before Pellegrino slammed him head first into the canvas. Once they got to the ground Pellegrino took control, landing punches and elbows from the top and doing enough to win the round despite being in big trouble at the start.
Pellegrino got right back on top of Camoes at the start of the second, and mounted him with three minutes to go in the round. From there it was just a matter of time, with Pellegrino waiting for the right moment to take Camoes' back and eventually forcing him to tap with a rear-naked choke.
"He's a tough guy and I know he's a good jiu jitsu artist," said Pellegrino, who improves his record to 15-4. "I just weathered the storm."
Camoes falls to 10-5-1, including 0-1-1 in the UFC. This might have been his last chance in the Octagon.
