Scott Jorgensen vs. Antonio Banuelos at WEC 48

The first fight on the first pay-per-view card for World Extreme Cagefighting will be a bantamweight bout between Scott Jorgensen and Antonio Banuelos.

Damacio Page was originally slated to face Banuelos on the April 24 WEC 48 card, but the WEC announced today that Page is injured and Jorgensen will take his place. The promotion also confirmed that the fight is slated to be the first on the televised card, which is headlined by a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Urijah Faber.

Although Page beat Jorgensen two years ago, I'd argue that the replacement of Page with Jorgensen actually makes the WEC 48 card stronger. Both Jorgensen and Banuelos are on three-fight winning streaks, and the winner of Jorgensen vs. Banuelos would have a strong case for being the No. 1 bantamweight contender in the WEC. It's also an interesting fight because Jorgensen and Banuelos fought to a close split decision, won by Banuelos, in 2009.

Here's how the WEC 48 card looks right now:
Pay-per-view card:
Jose Aldo vs. Urijah Faber
Ben Henderson vs. Donald Cerrone
Mike Brown vs. Manvel Gamburyan
Anthony Njokuani vs. Shane Roller
Scott Jorgensen vs. Antonio Banuelos

Preliminary Card:
Cub Swanson vs. Chan Sung Jung
Brandon Visher vs. Tyler Toner
Brad Pickett vs. Demetrious Johnson
Takeya Mizugaki vs. Rani Yahya
