Jake Rosholt tweeted late Thursday that his next fight will be against Jeremy Horn at King of the Cage on April 16 in Detroit, Mich.
"I'm really excited about the fight!!!" wrote Rosholt, who will headline the the card airing live on HDNet from the Cobo Arena.
Rosholt (7-2) faces his first "name" opponent since being released by the UFC after his loss to Kendall Grove at UFC 106 in November. The three-time NCAA wrestling champion fought last week and submitted Rudy Lindsey by rear-naked choke at a local show in Tulsa, Okla. During his three fights with the UFC, he beat Chris Leben in impressive fashion, but tapped out to Grove and Dan Miller.
Horn, one of the most active MMA veterans to date, is on a four-fight win streak in local shows. He was bounced early 2009 from the UFC after three straight losses to Nate Marquardt, Dean Lister and Rousimar Palhares.
