Andre Galvao Eyeing Strikeforce Debut Against Luke Stewart

Andre Galvao is training for a Strikeforce debut in March against Luke Stewart, Galvao told TATAME.com.

"I'm expecting the victory. I'm training hard and I wanna be back with the victories", the Brazilian welterweight told TATAME.com. "He's from Jiu-Jitsu too, likes to play on the ground, besides some victories by KO in his record."

Although Galvao didn't mention a specific date, a March date would likely mean Strikeforce Challengers 7 on March 26 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif.

Galvao (3-1), a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist who has won seven world titles, made his MMA debut in August 2008 and joined DREAM within a year. He won the first three fights of his career all by armbar before losing a split decision to Jason High in the semifinals of the DREAM Welterweight Grand Prix in July 2009.

Stewart (6-2), who owns a Tattoo shop in San Francisco and a BJJ black belt under Ralph Gracie, has fought his entire career with the San Jose-based Strikeforce promotion. His last fight was a TKO loss to Joe Riggs in November 2008.
