Cung Le and Roger Huerta can be seen in the trailer released Thursday for the upcoming film, Tekken, based on the best-selling video game fighting series.
Le and Huerta play characters Marshall Law and Miguel Caballero Rojo, respectively. Law is a Jeet Kune Do fighter modeled after Bruce Lee and Rojo is a Spanish brawler out to avenge his sister's death.
Huerta, who in September completed the final fight of his UFC contract and is now in talks with Strikeforce, entertained the possibility of a movie career while filming the role in 2008. The lightweight revealed a year ago to Sherdog.com his plans to focus on acting while still in his mid-20s.
"I saw that you have to dedicate as much as you do to training for a fight as you do for an acting role and I'm intrigued by that," Huerta said. "I'm 25 years old. I see Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture and they didn't really hit their primes till their thirties. I'm only going to be young so long and I know that movies and agencies and what not want the young look."
Former Strikeforce middleweight champion Le, 37, only fought twice the past two years, putting acting ahead of his fight career.
Huerta's clips are at the 1:13 mark and a fight sequence with Le is 50 seconds into the above trailer.
