Toby Imada vs. Jorge Masvidal Rematch Planned for April

The combatants in the unanimous winner for Submission of the Year in 2009, Toby Imada and Jorge Masvidal will likely square off again in April when Bellator returns for its second season.

Imada told Wednesday that the rematch will happen on April 8 and has confirmed with Bellator that the fight is being planned to happen sometime in the first three weeks of the season.

The two would meet in the first round of the lightweight tournament for a chance to challenge champion Eddie Alvarez for the belt.

Imada and Alvarez first met in the semifinals and after losing the majority of the fight, Imada secured an inverted triangle choke on a standing Masvidal for the win.

The second season of Bellator, which premieres April 8, will feature eight-man tournaments in the featherweight, lightweight, welterweight and middleweight divisions for the opportunity to face the respective season one champion for the title. For season two, Bellator has left ESPN Deportes for programming on NBC, Fox Sports Net and Telemundo.
