Dan Hornbuckle Signs with Bellator

Bellator has announced Dan Hornbuckle as the latest participant for the promotion's eight-man welterweight tournament beginning in April 2010.

Nicknamed "The Handler," the 28-year-old Hornbuckle (19-2) had a breakout year in 2009, finishing veterans Akihiro Gono and Nick Thompson both in convincing fashion at Sengoku events in Japan.

Bellator's welterweight division continues to build steam with the signing of Hornbuckle adding to the already confirmed tournament entrants Olympian Ben Askren and undefeated Jacob McClintock. The winner of the tournament will face Bellator champ Lyman Good for the title.

Bellator season two kicks off April 8, 2010 live on Fox Sports Net. Fights will additionally air on tape-delay on NBC and Telemundo.
