It was a fight in which Kang got off to an early advantage, hurting Bisping in the first round and having him in trouble on his back for much of the bout. But in the second round Bisping dropped Kang and pounded him on the ground, earning the TKO victory.
Bisping said afterward that he hoped the win would earn him a measure of the respect he thinks he lost in losing to Dan Henderson by knockout at UFC 100.
"I am absolutely over the moon," Bisping said. "This is my life, I'm dedicated to it and it really hurts me that people don't give me the respect I think I deserve."
Bisping improved his MMA record to 18-2. Kang falls to 32-12-1.
