20-Year-Old Rory MacDonald Signs Four-Fight Deal With UFC

Undefeated 20-year-old Rory MacDonald out of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada has signed a four-fight deal with the UFC and will make his Octagon debut tentatively in January 2010, FanHouse has learned.

MacDonald (9-0) first drew attention in December 2007 when he captured the Canadian King of the Cage belt at the age of 18, but it wasn't until last November when the then 19-year-old really raised eyebrows by stopping Sengoku and PRIDE Bushido veteran Clay French to win the King of the Cage world lightweight belt.

His body haven grown too big for 155 pounds, the Canadian moved up to welterweight in May and won his debut by first-round armbar. Last month MacDonald fulfilled his King of the Cage contract with a second-round TKO over former King of the Cage Canadian light heavyweight champ Nick Hinchliffe.

MacDonald will enter the UFC's welterweight division having finished all nine of his fights, four by TKO and five by way of submission.
