This is the UFC 103 live blog for Mirko Cro Cop vs. Junior Dos Santos, the co-main event of the night's pay-per-view card.I'm cageside at the American Airlines Center in Dallas for all the blow-by-blow. You can also keep track of all the action by following me on Twitter.
The live blog begins below.
Round one: Dos Santos goes right at him. Cro Cop tries his first head kick 50 seconds in. He whiffs but the crowd oohs. Dos Santos lands a nice combo against the cage. Cro Cop gifts him a knot under the right eye with a straight left. Crowd is heavily Cro Cop and chants his name midway through. Blood trickles down Dos Santos' face. Dos Santos finds a home for a left hook. Cro Cop now has a knot on the right side of his head. FanHouse scores the first round for Dos Santos.
Round two: Big left hook from Dos Santos rung Cro Cop's bell early. He looks faster and is clearly more aggressive. Dos Santos is in the groove now, landing more frequently as Cro Cop can't pull the trigger. It looks like we're watching the end of an era. With less than a minute left, Cro Cop hit Dos Santos with an unintentional low blow. Dos Santos took about two minutes of recovery time before restarting the match. On the restart, he kept pushing the action while Cro Cop backpedaled. FanHouse scores the round for Dos Santos.
Round three: Cro Cop starts pushing forward early, but gets punished with an uppercut for his efforts. Dos Santos hurt him with a knee from the clinch. Cro Cop escaped but Dos Santos followed with strikes. Cro Cop tried to back away, but Dos Santos stalked him into another clinch and added more punishment including an uppercut that caught him flush. After Cro Cop pulled away, he complained he couldn't see and asked to stop the fight.
Winner: Dos Santos by verbal submission
