Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Randy Couture were each guaranteed a purse of $250,000 as show money for their UFC 102 main event fight and Nogueira made another $150,000 as a bonus for winning the fight. Additionally, each pocketed a $60,000 bonus as an award for Fight of the Night.
The Oregon State Athletic Commission on Sunday released the salaries for the previous night's UFC 102 event at the Rose Garden in Portland.
In total, Nogueira earned $460,000 in disclosed pay, which please note, does not necessarily represent a fighter's actual salary and is only the numbers the UFC provides to the commission. Fighters could potentially earn more from extra bonuses and sponsorship money.
The next highest earner was a heavyweight on the undercard, Gabriel Gonzaga, who earned a total of $120,000 with win bonus included for his TKO over UFC newcomer Chris Tuchscherer, $10,000.
Keith Jardine stood to earn over $100,000, but lost his co-main event fight to Thiago Silva. Jardine picked up $55,000 while Silva brought home $29,000 to show plus a $29,000 bonus for the win.
Nate Marquardt earned $80,000 for his 21-second knockout win over Demian Maia, who made $28,000 in his first career loss.
As announced at the post-fight press conference, Marquardt and Rosholt each made another $60,000 for Knockout of the Night and Submission of the Night, respectively.
