This is the UFC 102 live blog for Nate Marquardt vs. Demian Maia, a middleweight bout on the pay-per-view card.Marquardt and Maia are serious contenders for the middleweight crown and the winner here could turn out to be either the No. 1 or No. 2 contender for the belt.

Round 1: The entire fight essentially consisted of one punch. Maia threw a lazy left leg kick and Marquardt threw a power right hook that landed flush and put Maia out. Marquardt could have added more punishment, but he knew it was over and backed off so the ref could wave it off. The fight took all of 21 seconds.
Winner: Marquardt via KO
