Dance or Wiggle? 'King Mo' Contemplates Friday Night's Ring Entrance

If you've been following Muhammed Lawal's MMA career since he made his pro debut one year ago, you won't be surprised to hear that his biggest concern heading into Friday's M-1 Global bout against Mark Kerr has nothing to do with Kerr's fighting skills, but what kind of dance he'll do on his way to the ring.

"King Mo," who's known as much for his elaborate ring entrances as he is for his undefeated 4-0 record, said on this week's edition of The MMA Hour that he's narrowed it down to two choices.

"I'm going to do a big entrance, like always, but you know what? I might throw out a dance out there," Lawal said. "I've been watching some old pro wrestling promos on YouTube, and I ran into my boy "Das Wunderkid" Alex Wright, you know what I'm saying? I've seen him hit the Alex Wright dance, dog.

"... It's corny as hell, but after he does something good, he always does it. After he does a body slam? The dance. Walks to the ring? The dance. Clothesline? The dance. ... I might even do it in the fight. I'm going to throw punches, then dance."

Lawal, who predicted he would be fighting in either Strikeforce or the UFC in 2010, also said he's contemplating doing "the Norman Smiley wiggle," but said "it's kind of suspect."

In case you're not familiar with these two semi-legendary pro wrestling moves, below are clips of both to help you visualize what Lawal is thinking about:

And just like that, Lawal turned Friday's HDNet telecast of the event into must-see TV.

Don't worry, though, MMA fans: despite Lawal's love for all things pro wrestling, the former All-American wrestler at Oklahoma State University said he has no aspirations of pursuing a sports entertainment career during his MMA run. However, he did say that he would like to try his hand at pro wrestling whenever he hangs up his MMA gloves for good.
