We already knew that DREAM.11 would take place on Oct. 6 and UFC 104 on Oct. 24, but now it looks like Fedor Emelianenko will make his Strikeforce debut on Oct. 10. Ken Hershman, Showtime Sports' senior vice president and general manager, informed FanHouse of the news on Thursday. Emelianenko's first fight for the organization will air live on the premium cable network.
Hershman added that no location or opponent for Emelianenko has been finalized.
Interestingly enough, UFC president Dana White hinted last week that the organization may add a second October show, as well. Of course, Emelianenko's decision to sign with Strikeforce led to White recently coining the term "Strike-Farce."
The UFC has also decided to counter-program this weekend's Strikeforce telecast on Showtime with a free replay of UFC 100 on Spike TV.
Emelianenko is expected to face either Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem, Brett Rogers or Fabricio Werdum in his debut. Another rumored opponent is veteran Ricco Rodriguez.
Also expected for the card is Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza and Matt Lindland's Strikeforce debuts, as well as Jake Shields fighting for the organization's interim middleweight title.
