WEC 42 Live Blog: Miguel Torres vs. Brian Bowles Round-by-Round Updates

The bantamweight championship of mixed martial arts will be determined on Sunday night in Las Vegas, when WEC champion Miguel Torres takes on No. 1 contender Brian Bowles. The WEC 42 undercard is over, and we have live, round-by-round updates on the main event right here at FanHouse.

Round 1: This fight is underway. For the first 30 seconds, no strikes are thrown as they just try to feel each other out. Torres lands a leg kick. Bowles lands a hard right hand and knocks Torres down! Torres got back up but he was hurt by Bowles' punch. Bowles said going into this fight that he punched harder than anyone Torres has fought before, and that punch looked like it. Now Bowles takes Torres to the ground. Bowles is in Torres' guard. Bowles passed Torres' guard but paid for it, as Torres landed three up kicks. Bowles then went back down into Torres' guard. Torres would like to get an arm bar but Bowles is pulling away. They stand back up, and there's a nice high kick from Torres. And now Bowles knocks Torres to the ground! and its' over! Bowles knocked Torres out cold! Brian Bowles defeats Miguel Torres by first-round knockout.
