Cheick Kongo (19-4-1) has been announced as the replacement for the injured Heath Herring to fight Cain Velasquez (5-0) at UFC 99 on June 13 in Cologne, Germany.
Kongo steps in for a fighter who dealt him his most recent defeat. Kongo has since won three straight against Dan Evensen, Mostpha Al-Turk and Antoni Hardonk -- all by TKO.
Velasquez is a two-time All American wrestler out of Arizona State and is one of the UFC's most promising heavyweights. He made his UFC debut in April 2008 with only two fights under his belt and went on to TKO Brad Morris, Jake O'Brien and Denis Stojnic.
