'Mayhem' submits Hose, holds onto DREAM title shot

Jason "Mayhem" Miller (21-6) was victorious at the inaugural Kingdom MMA event Saturday in Hawaii to keep his planned DREAM middleweight title shot.

Miller made quick work of Hawaiian knockout artist Kala "Kolohe" Hose at 2:23 of the first round and confirmed after his next challenge.

"I need your support more than ever," Miller told the fans. "Now that I beat Kala Hose, my next step is [to] go to DREAM to fight for the middleweight championship belt of the world."

Miller utilized his reach to set up the takedown. From there, Miller, by far the superior of the two in grappling, passed to full mount and rained down punches. Hose gave up his back to avoid damage but essentially allowed Miller to easily secure the rear-naked choke submission.

Miller's next fight will be a rematch against Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza (10-2) for the vacant DREAM middleweight belt at DREAM.9 on May 26 in Japan. Souza won a unanimous decision over Miller in the semifinals of the 2008 DREAM Middleweight Grand Prix.

Gegard Mousasi, who defeated Souza in the finals to win the belt, vacated the belt to move up to light-heavyweight.
