Mayweather, Affliction backs off UFC 100 date

Both the Floyd Mayweather Jr comeback fight and the Affliction 3 card will not be challenging UFC 100 on July 11 as rumored.

According to a report today on ESPN.com, Mayweather's return against Juan Manuel Marquez has been pushed back a week to July 18 to avoid going head-to-head against UFC 100 on pay-per-view.

Meanwhile, Affliction VP Tom Atencio has shot down rumors of an Affliction 3 event headlined by Fedor Emelianenko taking place free on television on July 11. The third effort from the clothing company/fight promotion remains unknown.

UFC 100, featuring Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir, Georges St-Pierre vs. Thiago Alves and Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping, is expected to be one of the biggest shows in the promotion's history. Tickets sold out completely through pre-sales.
