Chuck Liddell and Shogun Rua will square off in a big fight at UFC 97. The full preview is below.

Styles make fights: As you can see from their records, these two guys are stand-up fighters who like to win fights on their feet. That should make this a classic slugfest that has the crowd in Montreal in a lather until someone gets knocked out.

Liddell says about Rua
: "I think he was in horrible shape for that fight (against Mark Coleman). But I'm expecting him to fix that problem, whether it was a problem in his camp or just something that wasn't going right for him, I'm expecting him to be in much better shape when we fight. I'm positive he'll show up in better shape for our fight. ... I plan on throwing everything I have at him and knocking him out."

Rua says about Liddell: "Chuck is an awesome fighter, and a legend of the sport. I always wanted to fight him, because I always had him as one of my favorite fighters, because of his aggressive style."

What's at stake for both fighters: They were both considered among the best light heavyweights in the world a couple of years ago, but they've fallen on hard times recently. The winner of this fight, however, is probably only another win or two away from a UFC light heavyweight title shot.

Why Liddell is favored: He's better known to bettors, and there are no questions about his health.

Why Rua could pull the upset: Rua hasn't been completely healthy and in shape in two years. He says he's finally back to 100% now, and when he was at 100% in Pride, he was one of the most dominant forces in MMA.
