One of these heavyweights tonight will receive his first career loss. Rogers is 9-0 while Humphrey is 5-0, all via (T)KO.

R1: Humphrey chases Rogers with jabs and closes with a leg kick. Rogers returns with a punch combo. Humprey with some wild kicks. They clinch and separate. Humphrey drives Rogers across the cage for a takedown but doesn't get it. Roger lands with a punch combo. They battle in clinch and separate. Rogers falls, either due to a slip or a kick, and they tie-up. Roger stuns Humphrey with a right hand. They clinch and two knees from Rogers. Dean warns Rogers for holding Humphrey's dreadlocks. Rogers does it again and Dean gives him a final warning. Rogers connects with a knee and punches but the fight is broken up as Dean takes a point off Rogers for hair-grabbing. Humphrey gets some rest with 45 seconds left. Back in clinch, Rogers lands a knee to the body and uppercuts. Humphrey fights back with punches to end the round.

R2: Rogers jabs his way into clinch. Humphrey goes for the single-leg but doesn't get it. Rogers likes his uppercuts in clinch. Rogers adds knees to the head. Humphrey is hurt. A bloodied Humphrey drops to the floor and the fight is stopped.

Fight #2 - Cris "Cyborg" Santos (152) vs. Hitomi Akano (143.5)
Santos came in seven pounds over the weight limit and Akano initially turned down the fight but later agreed to the fight after reaching a new agreement with the promotion.
Three, three-minute rounds.
R1: Akano with a leg kick. Santos answers with a kick and unloads with punches. Akano looks for a hip toss but gives up her back and Santos gets the suplex. Akano goes for the armbar but gives it up for closed guard. Santos stands up and drops rights. Akano kicks Santos back, and the fight is on their feet. Santos lands rights. Santos just tosses Akano down and walks off. Major size and strength difference here. Akano moves in and tries to lure Santos down. Santos ends the round with a flurry of punches.

R2: Santos throws a high kick and scores with a low. Akano goes for the double-leg but can't get Santos down. Santos drops punches and lets the fight back to standing. Santos lands more punches. Akano ties up and eats a knee to the body. Akano attempts the flying armbar but ends in closed guard. Ten of Akano's fourteen wins have come via armbar. Santos ground and pounds. Akano is saved by the bell.

R3: Akano looks for a leglock. Santos lands a right. Santos hits with a knee. Santos with a flurry of punches and the referee stops the fight.
Fight wasn't even close and you can't blame Akano for wanting to walk away from such an oversized opponent.

Santos says this is the first and last time she doesn't make weight, and cites "girl problems." She apologizes and asks for forgiveness.
Fight #3 - Scott Smith (184) vs. Benji Radach (184)
R1: Smith with jabs and Radac's right is blocked. Radach lands jabs and a right. Radach is throwing heavy punches. Smith with a punch combo and gets his kick caught. Smith pushes forward with punches and a high kick. Radach backs away. Smith lands a leg kick. Radach started off aggressive but is now busy avoiding Smith. They slug. Smith drops Radach with a left. Radach gets up and he's being chased down, but he turns around to drop Smith with a right! They slow down the pace with a little over a minute left. Radach lands a left hook. Radach shoots and scores the double-leg takedown. Radach drops rights.

R2: They clinch and then separate with 3:53 left. Radach with stiff jabs. Smith lands an inside leg kick. Radach lands a left hook and Smith is in troiuble. Radach applies the guillotine choke. Smith takes Radach down but Radach is on top with Smith working for a single-leg. The referee separates them. Radach lands jabs.
Round two was definitely Radach's. 10-9 for Radach.
R3: Smith turns it up a under a minute into the round. Smith tries for a guillotine but Radach picks Smith for big takedown. Radach with liver shots. The referee stands them up. Smith fires away wiht punches and a head kick. Smith wiht more punches and Radach steps away. Radach jabs to keep Smith away. What a comeback! Smith knocks out Radach with a right. Smith was down two rounds and had less than two minutes to finish the fight.
Smith wins via KO - R3 (3:24)
Smith admits he counted himself out at points during the fight but glad he pulled out the knockout. After thanking his trainers, fans and sponsors, Smith closes the post-fight interview by thanking his masseuse Tom Atencio (Affliction VP). That's a great running joke. Smith at his last Strikeforce win congratulated Atencio for getting married to his life partner "Lance."
Fight #4 - Gilbert Melendez (154) vs. Rodrigo Damm (154.5)
This fight is for the interim Strikeforce lightweight title.
R1: Melendez stalks Damm with jabs. Melendez catches a right leg kick and takes Damm down. Melendez lands punches in Damm's guard. Damm looks to escape but absorbs big left punches to the head. Melendez adds hammerfists. Damm close to halfguard. Melendez keeps attacking. Round one ends with Melendez dropping right punches.

R2: Melendez shoots at 4:11 and Damm stuffs it. Melendez shoots again and almost gets it but Damm drives Melendez back. Melendez lands a right. Damm lands a leg kick. Melendez drops Damm with a right and finishes with punches.

Melendez, the previous champ, claims the interim belt to set up a rematch with current champ Josh "The Punk" Thomson, who had to pull out of this fight against Melendez due to a broken leg.
Fight #5 - Frank Shamrock (180) vs. Nick Diaz (180)
"Big" John McCarthy is the referee. They don't touch gloves.
R1: They size each other up. Shamrock tapping leg kicks. Diaz catches a leg kick and puts Shamrock in guard. Diaz drops left punches as he moves closer to side mount. Diaz passes to side. Shamrock escapes to his feet and attacks immediately. Diaz gets back to his feet. Shamrock lands another leg kick. Shamrock with punch to body and head. Diaz jabs. Shamrock connects with a right. Diaz misses a high kick. Diaz lands a leg kick. Shamrock throws a kick that appears to be caught and he falls back. Diaz quickly passes to side and then full mount. Shamrock tries to bridge out by kicking off the cage. He can't. Diaz unloads with left and rights. Shamrock escapes just as the bell sounds.

R2: Diaz mouths off. Diaz with a combo misses. Shamrock sneaks in and lands punches. Diaz lands a punch to the body and Shamrock backs away. Diaz connects with punches in a boxing exchange. Diaz lands with Shamrock's back against the cage. Diaz is outboxing Shamrock. Shamrock's face is bloodied. Still, Shamrock trades with Diaz. Diaz drops Shamrock with a right punch to the body. Diaz ground and pounds and McCarthy stops the fight.
Diaz helps Shamrock up and raises Shamrock's hand.
