UFC counter-programs Strikeforce with UFC 94

Whenever there's a solid non-Zuffa card happening on a Saturday night, you can almost-always bet they'll be a UFC presentation on Spike TV.

Tomorrow, April 11, will be no different as UFC 94 "St-Pierre vs. Penn 2," previously on pay-per-view, will make its basic cable premiere at 9 p.m. ET, against Strikeforce "Shamrock vs. Diaz," which airs on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET.

Commercials for UFC 94 on Spike TV are asking viewers to judge for themselves whether Georges St-Pierre gains unfair advantage by greasing in his title defense against BJ Penn.

The "Shamrock vs. Diaz" event is Strikeforce's first live show on Showtime.

In the last year, the UFC has put older pay-per-views on Spike TV to go head-to-head against Affliction and EliteXC. Last July, the UFC even promoted a live event with Anderson Silva free on Spike TV on the same night as the first Affliction event, "Banned," headlined by Fedor Emelianenko vs. Tim Sylvia.
