Two bouts announced for 'Sengoku 8'

Two bouts involving championship-caliber Brazilian grapplers have been announced for the World Victory Road "Sengoku 8" event on May 2 in Tokyo, Japan.

Leonardo Santos (6-2), who in 2005 tapped Georges St-Pierre with a flying armbar in an ADCC match, will take on former DEEP champion Kazunori Yokota (8-2-3). Santos, who in his MMA debut accepted a majority decision loss to Takanori Gomi, is on a five-fight win streak.

ADCC champion Alexandre "Xande" Ribeiro (1-0) will fight former light-heavyweight King of Pancrase Keiichiro Yamamiya (34-23-9). In addition to his grappling accolades, Ribeiro has the bragging right of being the first person to submit Jeff Monson in a grappling match.

"Sengoku 8" wil feature the quarterfinals of the promotion's featherweight tournament. No matchups have been announced yet.
