WEC targeting pay-per-view in June

The WEC is looking at promoting a pay-per-view in June, says WEC vice president Peter Dropick in an interview posted today on Versus.com.

Dropick said the main event would be a featherweight title rematch between champ Mike Brown and previous champ Urijah Faber. If the pay-per-view does not happen by June, the fight will happen the same month on a live telecast on Versus.

WEC has not determined the suggested pay-per-view price but Dropick assured the price would certainly be lower than UFC's pay-per-view events, which carries a price tag of $44.95 for standard and $54.95 for high-definition.

The WEC was founded in 2001 by Scott Adams and Reed Harris and purchased in 2006 by Zuffa. The WEC began shortly after airing live on Versus with WEC 28 "WrekCage" on June 3, 2007.
