Two MMA fights left for Kimbo Slice

Kimbo Slice is planning to box after he fulfills the two MMA fights he has left from the EliteXC contract he signed in 2007.

"Boxing is really my first desire," Slice said Monday in an interview with The Nassau Guardian. "I have a lot of love for it and believe I can do pretty well. MMA is somewhat of a project for me. Boxing is one dimensional while there are a lot of dimensions in MMA. I don't think it would be a hard transition from MMA to stand up boxing because of my fighting style."

Slice believes at 35, he's better off focusing on boxing.

"At this point in my career, I want to take that same drive and focus that I invested in MMA and put that into training for pro boxing cards," Slice explained to the national newspaper in the Bahamas.

By Slice saying he's contracted to two more fights suggests that he'll be fighting for the Strikeforce promotion on Showtime. Strikeforce has said it would be interested in promoting Slice, but hasn't confirmed the former YouTube sensation's participation.
