Torres vs. Bowles announced for WEC debut in Chicago

WEC announced today Miguel Torres vs. Brian Bowles and Jeff Curran vs. Joseph Benavidez as the headliners for the promotion's Chicago debut on April 5 at the UIC Pavillion.

Torres (35-1) will be making his third title defense when he faces Bowles (7-0), who fights out of the Hardcore Gym in Athens, Georgia. The 28-year-old Bowles, who has finished all four of his WEC fights, clinched a title shot at WEC 37 "Torres vs. Tapia" with a win over Will Ribeiro.

Benavidez (9-0), who made his WEC debut last December at WEC 37, will receive his biggest test in Curran (29-10-1), a veteran coming off losses against the two top featherweights in the world, Mike Brown and Urijah Faber.

Tickets go on sale Thursday, Feb. 12 at noon CT with passcode "DITKA" or for the general public on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 10 am CT.
