The bout is a five-round title fight, but it's also a semifinal bout in the UFC's four-man heavyweight tournament. The winner of this fight will take on Brock Lesnar (who beat Randy Couture at UFC 91) in a UFC heavyweight title unification bout.
Mir vs. Nogueira is the fourth fight on tonight's UFC 92: The Ultimate 2008 pay-per-view card, and it should start around 11:30 p.m. Eastern.

Mir vs. Nogueira
Frank Mir is making his way to the Octagon. Mir is in the Octagon.
Minotauro is making his way to the Octagon. Minotauro is in the Octagon.
Round 1: This fight is underway. Mir tried for a head kick but Nogueira checked it. Mir lands a leg kick. Mir backs Nogueira off with a punch. Mir lands some strikes and then takes Nogueira down. Mir decides to stand the fight back up, showing respect for Nogueira's jiu jitsu. Big kick from Mir. Solid uppercut from Mir. Mir's standup game is clearly improved. Nice right kick followed by a left hand from Mir. Through the first half of the first round, Mir looks outstanding. Mir lands another uppercut. Mir rocks Nogueira! A punch knocks Nogueira to the ground. But Mir stands it back up. Mir looks faster and more explosive than Nogueira tonight. They trade kicks. Nogueira lands a punch. Nogueira with his best combination of the fight, but Mir just shrugs it off and smiles. Mir knocks Nogueira down at the end of the round, a round I give to Mir, 10-9. That could easily have been a 10-8 round.
Round 2: Mir starts with a good body kick. Good combination of punches from Mir. Another combination from Mir, who is just dominating the stand up. Nogueira is very tentative and Mir is really controlling the pace. Mir decks Nogueira! He hammers him on the ground and it's over! Frank Mir beats Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira by second-round TKO.
