Former UFC heayvweight champion Randy Couture has been cast in his most high-profile film yet, "The Expendables," written and directed by Sylvester Stallone.
According to Ain't It Cool News, which learned of Couture's participation from Stallone himself, Couture will play one of the five main mercenaries in the film, joining an all-star list of martial arts actors that includes Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li and Jason Statham.
In 2008, Couture was seen in "Redbelt" and "The Scorpion King: Rise of the Warrior."
"The Expendables" is scheduled to begin shooting March 2009 for a release sometime in 2010.
