Diego Sanchez to move down to lightweight

Diego Sanchez started his UFC career as a middleweight on the first season of "The Ultimate Fighter," but moved to welterweight once the show ended. Now, Sanchez is eyeing another move down, to lightweight.

"I'm training hard and will be dropping down to fight at 155. I will keep you all posted on the info of the fight! But I promise you all that I will do my best to win," Sanchez said on his myspace blog.

Sanchez told MMAFighting.com in June that his ideal weight class would be 165 pounds as 155 pounds would be too much weight to cut.

Apparently there are opportunites in the lightweight division that will make it worth his while to cut the weight.

One possible fight that makes sense would be a rematch with Kenny Florian, whom Sanchez defeated to become the winner of "The Ultimate Fighter."

Sanchez (19-2) experienced a major setback in October when he suffered an injury weeks away from a scheduled fight against Thiago Alves, missing out on a chance to win a title shot. Alves defeated Josh Koscheck to earn a shot at the welterweight title.
