Matt Lindland will take on Vitor Belfort at Affliction "Day of Reckoning" on Jan. 25 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Affliction VP Tom Atencio told MMAWeekly on Monday.
According to the report, Renato "Babalu" Sobral was supposed to fight Lindland but Sobral recently fought for Strikeforce as a light-heavyweight and would need to fight Lindland at catchweight around 190-195 pounds.
Atencio decided against a catchweight fight and assigned Belfort to Lindland in a middleweight contest.
Belfort and Lindland will have to refamiliarize themselves with one another as they had been scheduled to fight on the promotion's October card before it was postponed until January.
