WEC bantamweight champion Miguel Torres will defend his title against Manny Tapia on Wednesday at WEC 37, and Torres is such a well-rounded fighter that it's hard to see a path to victory for Tapia.
But Tapia says his relentless approach will break Torres' will.
"If he does have a weakness it would probably be mental," Tapia said on Inside MMA. "And I will break that. I'm going to go in and fight him, and he's going to go into the third round, second round, and he's going to be like, 'Why does this guy keep coming after me?' When we go out December 3, be ready, because it's going to be an exciting fight."
I've never noticed any mental weakness in Torres. He's 34-1, he's avenged his only loss, and in his last 10 fights, no one has even gone the distance with him. I hope Tapia brings it against Torres, the way Torres' last opponent, Yoshiro Maeda, did. But I don't think Torres is going to worry about why Tapia keeps coming after him.
