"If Silva finishes Cote in the way he normally finishes opponents, he could fight again in two months," UFC president Dana White told The Sun.
That would make an already stacked UFC 92 card even stronger. The card already features Frank Mir vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in an interim heavyweight title bout, Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans in a light-heavyweight bout and Wanderlei Silva vs. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson in a second rematch.
Silva, who debuted in the UFC light-heavyweight division in July by knocking out James Irvin in 61 seconds, would fight at UFC 92 as a light-heavyweight. Afterwards Silva will be back at defending his middleweight belt.
White also mentioned that Silva fighting Georges St. Pierre is a possibility.
"If GSP beats BJ [Penn] then you'll see Silva v GSP -- possibly at a catch weight," White said.
St. Pierre will defend his welterweight belt at UFC 94 on January 31. However White said "there's no way" Penn would fight Silva. Penn, currently the UFC lightweight champ, would have to move up two weight classes to fight Silva and would confuse the UFC's title situation if he were to hold three title belts..
