UFC announces new Japanese TV deal

The UFC announced Monday that the promotion has reached a new two-year deal with Japanese television network WOWOW.

All UFC pay-per-views will air on WOWOW beginning with UFC 89: Bisping vs. Leben on Saturday.

The deal on WOWOW technically started in August, but prior shows were months behind. Saturday's broadcast of UFC 89 will be on only a four-hour tape-delay.

"The Japanese market has always been important to the UFC, and we want to bring MMA and all of its biggest stars back to Japan," UFC president Dana White said. "We are thrilled to be back with WOWOW."

WOWOW is a premium television network in Japan, comparable to HBO and Showtime in the US.
