Doerksen-Takeuchi added as a reserve bout

Joe Doerksen revealed on his website today that he will take on Izuru Takeuchi at Sengoku 6 in Tokyo, Japan on November 1.

The fight will serve as a reserve bout for the Sengoku middleweight tournament, which is comprised of Yuki Sasaki, Kazuhiro Nakamura, Jorge Santiago and Siyar Bahadurzada.

This will be Doerksen's return to a big stage since leaving the UFC/WEC on three straight losses from August 5, 2007 to April 19, 2008. In August Doerksen snapped the losing streak with a split decision win at a local show in Calgary.

Takeuchi (25-9-6) is the middleweight King of Pancrase on a five-fight win streak. The 34-year-old will also be making his Sengoku debut.
