NCAA wrestling champ Phil Davis wins pro debut

2008 NCAA champion and 4-time All-American wrestler Phil Davis won his professional mixed martial arts debut Saturday in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Davis won a unanimous decision in the main event of "The Awakening" over Brett Chism of Valdosta, Georgia. Chism was a solid opponent, coming into the fight with a record of 8-2 and four consecutive wins.

Davis, who entered the fight with a 3-0 amateur record, improves his overall MMA record to 4-0.

Davis completed his college wrestling career with a record of 116-20. In his senior year, Davis compiled a record of 26-1 and won the Division 1 national championship.
