Gomi: Now's the time for me to prove myself

Sengoku lightweight Takanori Gomi, who turned 30 on Monday, updated his blog on Wednesday to reaffirm his dedication to fighting at an elite level.

"I was interested in many things and envied other people's successes in my 20's," he wrote. "I think it's time for me to face the reality and concentrate on my work. I will regret if I don't put my heart and soul into my work now. Now is the time for me and Sengoku to prove ourselves."

Currently ranked the number 2 lightweight on MMAFighting.com, Gomi (29-3) signed with World Victory Road and has picked up wins this year over Duane "Bang" Ludwig and Sung Hwang Pang in the "Sengoku" promotion.
