"[The UFC] said I might fight with Quinton Jackson, but nothing has been signed yet," Rua told the magazine. "They called me and offered a fight with him and I accepted, but they didn't say anything else more."
Rua is currently rehabbing his left knee while training for his UFC comeback at his Universidade da Luta in Curitiba, Brazil.
Rua, a major star for PRIDE, fell victim to a rear-naked choke in his UFC debut against eventual champ Forrest Griffin. Rua was scheduled to fight Chuck Liddell at UFC 85 in London but pulled out with a ruptured ACL in his left knee that he had already underwent surgery for shortly after the Griffin fight at UFC 76.
Rua scored the first-round knockout over Jackson in April 2005 at PRIDE "Total Elimination 2005" in Saitama, Japan.
