Wagnney Fabiano, a Brazilian jiu jitsu specialist who is one of the best featherweight mixed martial arts fighters in the world, has signed a contract with World Extreme Cagefighting, he told the Brazilian MMA site tatame.com. Here's a look at Fabiano defeating John Gunderson:
Fabiano will almost certainly fight the WEC's featherweight champion, Urijah Faber, some time in 2009. The WEC will want to have Fabiano fight once or twice against other 145-pounders (perhaps first at its December 3 show) in order to get a little bit better name recognition with American fans, but the primary reason they signed Fabiano is to put him in the cage with Faber. That will be a great fight.
