IFL welterweight champion Jay Hieron has signed a 3-fight deal with Affliction and will compete on the promotion's "Day of Reckoning" card on Oct. 11 in Las Vegas.
After a failed 2-fight stint with the UFC, Hieron (13-4) found new life in the IFL as a member of the Los Angeles Anacondas. There the Xtreme Couture fighter compiled a 6-2 record en route to capturing the promotion's welterweight championship.
An opponent has not yet been determined.
Hieron joins IFL heavyweight champ Roy Nelson and IFL light-heavyweight champ Vladimir Matyushenko and top IFL lightweight contender Chris Horodecki on the Affliction 2 card.
