Bart Palaszewski appears WEC-bound

Lightweight Bart Palaszewki has been offered a six-fight contract with the WEC, Sherdog.com reports.

Palaszewski (29-11) broke out in April 2006 as a member of the Pat Miletich-led Quad Cities Silverbacks in the IFL, where he fought exclusively for two years.

When the IFL was put on hiatus, Palaszewski stayed active in June with a win over Jeff Cox at Adrenaline MMA 1 in Chicago. Now that the IFL is finished, Palaszewki is planning on joining his longtime coach Jeff Curran in the WEC.

"I think I match up very well with a lot of guys in the WEC, they've got a lot of strikers and I think I'm going to put on some phenomenal wars," Palaszewski told Sherdog.com. "If I get two really good shows, really good fights against ranked opponents, I think I'll be able to get a title shot."

Palaszewski was scheduled to fight Saturday at the Curran-promoted XFO 25 "Outdoor War 4" in Crystal Lake, Illinois, but his opponent Eric Wisely did not pass his medicals.
