UFC UK President Marshall Zelaznik announced the middleweight bout during an appearance on the "Setanta Sports Ultimate Talk Show" on Setanta Sports 1, which is the exclusive channel in England for live UFC events.
"It's a fight that the fans want to see," Zelaznik said. "Everyone knows Chris Leben and his knockout power and his strong jaw, and Michael with his great striking and great aggression."
Bisping (16-1), a regular at UFC events in England, has recorded two straight TKO victories this year after suffering his first career loss to Rashad Evans last November. Meanwhile, Leben (18-4) has knocked out two straight opponents in Terry Martin and Alessio Sakara.
Bisping and Leben were originally scheduled to meet at UFC 85: Bedlam in London, England, but a jail sentence stemming from a probation violation forced Leben out. Bisping remained on the card, winning easily via strikes in the first round over former TKO champion Jason Day.
